The sound of bells could be heard in the middle of the city. Edge was dressed in a sheer, beaded black dress as she ran from the hall of her room to where the meeting of elders was taking place. She was required to be there because she was Mikial's consort. Edge didn't much the title, but as was her life. She gets there just in time to stand behind his chair, and look pretty. That's all she ever was to him, a call girl. But Edge wanted more than that, she wanted to be loved by him. Mikial was incapable of love, not because he was a demon, but because of the fact he was a prince. He thought the whole world owed it his loyalty and undying obedience.
As the meeting progressed, the demon council came across the problem that the human world was getting too happy and wanted them to suffer a bit. This is where Edge came in, they wanted her to wreak havoc upon the place, kill some humans, maybe spread a plague. She shuddered at the idea of the plague, but she would do what she was commanded to do. Mikial nodded to her, and she blinked back at him.
Edge left in a flash and retired to her quarters, she was planning on leaving first thing in the morning.
Morning came, and Edge was prepared to go. Adorning her normal leather pants, and white blouse with a black leather corset atop. With her travelling cloak in place, she walked to her balcony. Taking in a good look of the demon city, she sighed. She was still longing for something more than what her life was, she just wished she could find what it was she was looking for.
Grabbing her sword and attaching the hilt to her belt, she was finally ready to go. Edge leaped off the balcony, and took flight to the nearest human village she could find. It took her most of the day, and part of the evening to get there. The gift of flight was something she felt precious to her. It reminded her of her family, and the days she spent as a youth with the angels. The air beneath her wings, hoisting her in the air, felt exhilarating. She lost herself in thought as she flew, all the world melted away. The whoooooshing sound encompassing her ears droned out her thoughts, and worries.
Once she had crossed the boundaries, she landed and used what little magical powers she had to hide her wings. Now, she looked human.
The village was quaint. She smirked slightly, as she walked among a group of people, she looked at a young man and asked him where the nearest pub was, He pointed it out and she nodded her thanks, the boy seemed in awe of her. Most mortal men usually were, she had a... presence about her. Edge found the pub and walked in. She found the barkeep, asked for an ale and room for the night. He passed her the ale, and a key to one of the rooms. She passed him the coins for both, and sat at the bar. Her hood was up shielding her face, but her small build could be seen through her cloak. Edge noticed the bar was rather empty, save for a few travelers. She watched them, in interest as she sipped her ale with the smirk still in place.
[[OOC: Okay, left it open for anyone to jump. You could be the barkeep, a traveler or anyone else in between. Just joineth pleaseth!]]

Kane slowly walked in, his eyes looking around the room, he saw a few travelers, one a suspicious one with a cloak... he ordered a drink, "Sure Captain" said the bartender. He took the drink and handed him a gold coin and took a seat in the edge of the bar, watching for anything evil going on...

Dark brown hair trailed behind her bouncing and collecting dirt and sticks as Alissa Anawin gently strode towards the outskirts of the forest, her home. It was evening, the sky partly filled with thin white clouds and a couple stars peeking into her view. The Earth beneath her feet was quite as her leather sandals slapped against it, the sound soon turning into a light pat as she hit cobbled stone. The village was small, and though Alissa had come more than a few times before the people out and about now seemed to have no recollection of her. She smiled as she passed a few more people and approached the tavern or pub, as they liked to call it.
The smell of alcohol at this time of night was usually thick and strong, but as Alissa passed through the wooded pub door her eyes fell onto very few people. Odd, she thought as the medium sized basket she was carrying swayed on her forearm. Inside laying on a bed of grass and sticks were a few items, some pottery and hair adornments, and a couple precious stones. The pottery and hair items were handmade, and the stones she'd found deep in the forest by her home. Her brown eyes twinkled as she walked pass the bar and to an open table closer to the hearth. Tucking her trailing hair underneath her table so as no one would step on it, Alissa lowered her own muddy brown hood and peered around, her eyes finally coming to a rest on another traveler sitting at the bar.
The items in her basket gleamed and before she could really get a good look at anyone the barkeep's attention had been drawn. "You there." He said, a cheery smile on his face. "Please, come show me what you have." She tipped her head forward in a graceful bow and collected her things, grabbing a seat next to the woman at the bar and placing the basket between herself and her. "These gems are beautiful." He said as he reached in and gently stroked a black stone. "Are you selling them?" "I am." She replied, her eyes flickering between the barkeep and the person next to her. She seemed a bit...off, a small quirk Alissa could easily pick up.

Edge watched out of the corner of her eye as a young woman, with the prettiest hair she had seen in a long time, walked into the bar. Then proceeded to show the Barman her wares as he asked. She sipped her ale, then looked as the girl sat beside her. When the Barman was done gushing over the things she was selling, Edge smiled at her.
"Mind if I take a peek at what you've got there?" she asked as she tilted her head. It was nice to have another female present in the bar. Seeing as it was all men, until Edge and this young woman arrived. She sipped her ale, then decided to introduce herself. "Name's Edge. I'm travelling through this little town, making my way to one of the bigger cities. Ever heard of Ravenwood?" she asked making idle conversation.
The girl seemed small, innocent. But there was something different about her. Why stop inside of a pub this late at night? All alone no less? Was this town really that trustworthy? Or was she like Edge? Looking for something more in life.

Ravenwood. Alissa blinked, her deep down eyes adjusting firmly on the young woman's face. Truth be told she'd been there before, but the incident had been so long ago, and she wasn't even sure if it had still been called Ravenwood back then. Her left hand was gently holding the basket while her free fingers danced over the large stones weighing it down. "I do believe I've graced it's streets some time ago." She replied as her hand stopped over a particularly red gem, its surface gleaming like glass. The atmosphere around them was dank and musty, and posses its own sorts of warmth for a pub, but Alissa was inviting, and calm. "Watch." She held a finger up to the girls face while her other drew up upon her dark red lips, shushing her with a smile. She picked up the rock and motioned for her to open her palm. "What do you feel?" She asked, intending to drop the stone into her palm when she opened.
Alissa had been given that stone by a spirit of the Earth, a spicy little fellow whom she'd given form too back in the winter months. The rock was alive with energy, constantly a burning red because of it actually and depending on one emotions could bring it to life. Passion, anger, jealousy and even vengeance of high measures could bring this stone alive, so much so that it burned the skin. It could give you that extra boost you needed to survive or make a split decision but every gem had its flaw. Alissa recalled that like over heated glass the gem would eventually shatter over time, much depending on the person and had seen herself a few times the gem shattered within seconds of use.
Rage and anger should never run that deep, and she had really hoped someone of that nature would not possess it, but a gift was a gift, and she enjoyed giving.

Edge watched as Alissa responded slowly to her, had this land changed that much? It could be, she had been stuck in the demon world a long time. Alas, she equally hated and loved her home. But here she was, with humans again. In spite of what people thought about demons, she actually liked humans. They were interesting and delicate creatures.
"Mm, I see. What's your name, miss?" she smiled, then watched as plucked a red stone from her basket. When indicated, she outstretched her hand and opened it palm up for the girl to drop the stone in her palm. Edge gasped lightly as the stone was not cold, it was warm in her palm. It gave off a slight thrum in her hand as well. "This... is amazing," she said in awe as she felt a burning passion, and high energy. Also, a deep-rooted anger toward the man who had made her what she was.
But for the most part, it was the passion she so longed to express. "I feel.. Warm, and..." she hesitated. To express what she really felt to the girl? Or no? She looked at Alissa, then offered the stone back to her in her out-stretched palm. "It's a wonderful trinket." she smiled, "thanks for sharing it with me."

"Alissa." She said as she gently took back the stone, dropping it next to the others in the basket. The stone had glowed, a small ember of its true power but had still reacted to her touch. "And yours?" Her voice was soft, barely audible over the crackle of the fire behind them and the voices of the few patrons who lined the tables. The barkeep had lost interest and returned to cleaning glasses, though occasionally threw a glance at the two women. "I've never seen you around here before, are you a traveler?" Alissa asked, her chin resting on her palm.
She was intrigued, every person you came across had a story and part of her was anxious to find out what Edge's was. She definitely looked the part of a traveler but nothing was ever certain around these parts.

"Nice to meet you, the name is Edge." she nodded, then watched as the stone dropped back into the basket. Such wonders of the world, and Edge still hadn't discovered them all. Another reason she loved being around humans, they discovered such interesting things that demons would deem unworthy of their time. Returning her gaze back to Alissa, she was listening to the question she was being asked. Hmm, difficult question, for if she said the wrong thing her whole identity could be given away...
"I am a traveler of sorts. I don't really have one home, but I do reside in cottage in the woods over east of here. I'm not fond of large crowds of people." she smiled and shrugged lightly. Edge looked at her ale, and noticed it was empty. She sighed, but as she did, the barkeep filled it up. She thanked him then passed him another coin, for his generosity. "What about you? Do you live around these parts?" she sipped her ale idly as she watched Alissa.
Pretty girl.. She thought as she studied her appearance. It was sad that Edge was forbidden to fall in love, but c'est la vie when one is the servant of another. Luckily her clothes concealed all her demonic markings that became apparent when in darkness. Edge toyed with her hair a bit as she listened to Alissa speak.

Alissa chuckled, her brown eyes set firmly on Edge. "I've lived in many a forest myself, and much like you do not stay in one place too long." She was amazed at how much they were alike, but Alissa could more than feel they were different. She could sense something was off about Edge but had nowhere to begin guessing at why. She was drinking her ale at a normal pace, and Alissa wondered if she kept her here long enough if she would get drunk, perhaps spill some secrets that people so easily let go when inebriated.
Her red lips parted and Alissa grew more intrigued. The background noise faded from her hearing and only the sound of Edge's voice was what she concentrated on. If they had met in the forest she might have had an easier time identifying her deeper, but alas, so far from the tree's and earth Alissa's powers were not so strong. "And what brings you here, specifically?" She asked daintily, her nimble fingers drumming lightly on the wooden counter.

Edge watched and listened to Alissa. She smiled as she responded and nodded to her. "Ah, we are much a like then. Wanderers at heart, no one spot we can call home or can claim our hearts." she sipped her ale again, and then tilted her head as Alissa seemed more and more interested in her. She had to admit, that she was equally intrigued by the girl in front of her, but she would never admit such a thing out loud.
"I came here for lodging mostly, I've been travelling all day and I grow weary of wandering for the day." she shrugs idly as she sips her ale, then smiles at Alissa. "What about you? Couldn't sleep or something?" she tilts her head to the opposite side as a small smirk forms upon her lips, and her cheeks flush slightly from all the ale she had been drinking.
"You seem so.. Very different from the people here. A lot more... Interesting. Why choose here to stay?" she asked intrigued to know her reasoning for staying in such a small, lonely town. It was nice, but not the place she would choose unless she had to.

She thought on the question, knowing the answer readily in the back of her mind. The items she carried, or generally had on her at all times were not the kind of thing you'd try to pawn away in a big city. Not that Alissa would ever travel to such a popular place anyway. "I don't like large crowds." She replied. Most of her magical items were best suited to be used by simple people, usually of the human kind. In the wrong hands they could be used for some pretty wicked things, or worse if enchanted or worked upon. Her eye narrowed as she caught glimpse of the light flush of color on her face and a playful smiled graced her dark red lips. "Oh come now, you can't tell me you've never spent a night upon the forest floor."
Her intentions could have been flirty, and then again they could have been harmless. She liked to think at times she herself didn't know but as her fingers danced around inside her basket of goods thoughtlessly, the stone she had shown Edge set off a light glow, a clear indication of deep desire.

Edge smirked at her answer, she didn't much like large crowds either. Yet, she always found herself in one city or another. It was probably because that was where a vast majority of, well, things happened. "I can see that." she answered, then shrugged as she sipped her ale some more. When she mentioned the sleeping on the forest floor, she giggled and blushed.
"Oh I have, plenty of times. Not recently though." she said not knowing what Alissa's intentions were, but she kind of liked talking to the girl. She was definitely peeking, Edge's interests. "This might just be the ale talking, but if you were granted one wish, what would you wish for?" she tilted her head as she watched the lovely young woman.
