the newbie guide:
a guide to using our site
what the game is about
We don't have main one!
I know what your thinking. Your thinking: "What? What is this place ABOUT then?" Well, as stated before, we're fantasy roleplayers. The beautiful thing about our site is that you create your own, personal characters/ plots/ settings/ ect.
for your roleplays. Now, because there are so many different members, characters, ect., the only thing that needs to be kept in mind "plot-wise" is that it IS a fantasy world. There are going to be some pretty weird people, places, ect. that other members come up with. If you have any questions about the "plot", please contact me VIA the c-box here or PM.
what to name yourself
When you register your account, you can use spaces. Please register as a name you, as a person, want to be called. If your username is excessively long, we might ask your permission to put spaces in it so it won't stretch our boards. Unless you really want to be known as that name, do not register as your character's name.
Piece of advice. If you do register as a username you don't like and want to change it, you can request a name change via here
who will you play as?
When you've registered, you can start working on your character application. The template is located here
; please copy-paste it into a new topic and start filling it out. The template is filled with questions and explanations that you'll erase as you fill it out. For a more complete explanation of writing an application, please see this thread
starting a roleplay:
now, the really fun part
To start a roleplay, first choose your location. We have many different locations in both our "modern" and "medieval" categories, respectively. However, if you don't want to use any of the locations provided, that's fine! In both categories, we have "Elsewhere" boards made just for this issue! Simply explain your location at the beginning of your post out of character, then start your roleplay in character.
Once you've decided on your location, create a new thread. Type out your post, then go back up to the "Topic Title" and "Topic Description". Decide whether you want the roleplay to be Public or Private (if private, please list the usernames of allowed players in the Topic Description. If you want the roleplay to be open, put a [O] at the beginning of the title. If you want it to be private, put a [P] at the beginning of the title. Then, just think up a snazzy title for your roleplay. Once your roleplay has finished or ended, go to the first post and edit it. Change your public or private roleplay to [D], for dead or finished. This will help staff identify dead or finished roleplays and move them to the dead boards for archives. So, to re-cap, this is what your topic title and description will look like usually:
Public/ Open Roleplay:
[O] A Little Piece Of Heaven
Any other description you want.
Private/ Closed Roleplay:
[P] A Little Piece Of Heaven
Rayven, Miss Dusty Bones, Tie
Dead/ Finished Roleplay:
[D] A Little Piece Of Heaven
Any other description you want.
After you've posted your roleplay, you can either wait for someone to join, ask someone to, or advertise your roleplay. To advertise your roleplay, copy-paste this template
and create a new thread here
what is it and what does it do?
The formatting code this forum uses is called BBCode. There is a toolbar above the box where you enter your post that helps you format things in your post. Select the text you want to change, then click the button. To see a complete list of BB Codes, check out this thread.
what do i need to change?
In the top menu is a link called "My Controls". This area enables you to check and send private messages, change your profile, add an avatar or signature, and edit your privacy settings. We will let you upload your avatar here, but please use an external source (i.e. photobucket.com) to upload signatures. If you want to access the mature boards, it would be wise to accurately update your information. To do so, choose "Edit Personal Info" under the Personal Profile section. There, you can update your Member Title, your DOB, your location and your interests. Please understand that you must update your DOB to access mature boards.
If you have any further questions, please first check our "F.A.Q.
". If your question is not resolved there, create a new thread in the Help Board
