Clothing&Style: He usually wears a black cloak with his hood up, underneath the cloak he wears a plated exoskeleton suit. The exoskeleton suit is a navy color all around, but the areas covering his fingers, elbows, shoulders, and knees are a maroon color. He wears no makeup and usually shaves, show that he doesn't even have a stubble. Depending if he goes on a mission in the night, he will bring his night vision/thermal sensor goggles.

He has a lightly tanned skin tone, and a two inch scar going down his left eye. One looking into his eyes could easily tell that he has seen many things that normal humans never see, literally, he has gone to hell and back. Around his neck he also has a pendant that only he knows what is inside; it also serves a purpose to show his guild members that he is the guild leader. Inside the pendent, the picture is of Rosette and him together in their hometown. The pendent is a silver color and attached to a thin silver chain. He carries three weapons on him, a ninja-to on his back, a combat knife strapped on his left calf, and a Kyoketsu-shoge (a knife attached to a small and durable chain) on his waist. When he doesn’t go on a mission, he generally wears a slightly baggy, dark blue jean, a black long sleeve shirt, and brown boots. Generally, he likes to keep his combat knife on him, even when he doesn’t go on a mission. The cloak he wears reaches right below his ankle. His exoskeleton suit has small clips on his waist that allows him to attach things to it, such as his night vision/thermal sensor goggles. The exoskeleton suit is also able to detect his heart beats, after two minutes of a flat line, his suit will create a small explosion, comparable to a pound of C4, destroying his suit and making it unsalvageable.

He is usually a quiet person who is constantly thinking, although those who first meet him may think of him as a cold heartless person. Usually he is a rational person, unless found under extreme circumstances will he choose to make more drastic moves. He has a tendency to disappear and reappear without prior notice. When he is not on a mission, he’ll usually be more social to people. Generally, he likes to keep tabs on both the human world and the supernatural world. To do this, he likes to have his members gather information on technology that humans create and new breeds on supernatural beings. There are some occasions where he will go to gather information himself, but usually it is only when a rumor has piqued his interest. His dream of achieving world order can be said to be near obsessive. He is willing to do just about anything to achieve his dreams. There are many people that could agree to his dream of achieving world order, but there are very few people that would take it to an extreme as he would. His idea of world order is to wipe out all life, humans and non-humans alike. The reason for this is because he believes that without life, there will be no chaos. There is very little that he actually fears, even death does not scare him, but he generally chooses to not needlessly die. What he does fear are his loved ones dying, but there really is only one person he would call his loved one and he tends to be very protective of her. To avoid any trouble, he generally never talks about his loved one.

He was born in a small village located at the Frozen Glacier where he had spent most of his life growing up, going to school, and training himself in the way of stealth. At the age of seven Chrno had seen three nine year old boys gathered around something, but he was unable to see what it was. Just as he was about to walk away from them, he caught a glimpse of a little girl that was about to be hit. Seeing this he rushed over to the little girl's side, he knocked out all three boys and just walked away once they were down. After a few minutes the little girl he had saved came up to him and offered her thanks and had asked for his name. Telling her that his name was Chrno Jiéshù, she offered her thanks once more and had told him that her name was Rosette Xīwàng. Continuing on his way, Rosette had followed him all around and bombarded him with question after question until they had reached his home, where she had finally asked him if they could be friends. Agreeing to be her friend, she seemed happy and said goodbye to him before going on her way. From that day on he would see Rosette every day.

At the age of 15, Rosette was pestering Chrno, until he agreed, to go with her and explore a hidden cave that she had stumbled upon. Not knowing what could be in there they had both brought their weapons with them and entered the cave. After they had explored the entire first floor of the cave, they had discovered that the cave actually went further down. Upon reaching the second floor of the cave below, they had witnessed a fight between an ice troll and a frost giant. Remaining hidden, while the fight went on between the two. After about five minutes the ice troll had barely won against the frost giant. Seeing this as an opportunity to kill the ice troll in its weakened state, Chrno had jumped onto the ice troll's head and stabbed it's throat, killing the monster. After killing the monster he heard Rosette complaining to him how it was unfair for him to kill the monster and not her. Once she had finished complaining to him, he saw her walk away deeper into the cave. Following her, they had reached the end of the second floor. Seeing that Rosette was looking disappointed, Chrno looked around a bit and found that the cave went even further down. Pointing this out to her, they both went on ahead deeper into the cave. After exploring for about 20 minutes, they had reached what seemed to be the last area of the cave. As they walked closer and closer they could hear the sound of a fight happening. Without any warning, he saw Rosette rush ahead of him towards the sound. Worried that she might get herself into trouble, he followed her while remaining hidden. Upon reaching the area of the fight, he saw Rosette readied her naginata while a fight between a dusk troll and three winter wolves. Seeing that both the dusk troll and winter wolves ignore Rosette, he felt a little relieved. After about eight minutes, he saw the dusk troll beat the winter wolves to death and turn it's attention to Rosette. Watching the fight between the two for a while, it had seemed that Rosette was about to win, until she had slipped on a puddle of blood from the winter wolves. Waiting to see if she would get up, he saw the dusk troll raise it's hands above it's head and at that moment Chrno rushed in and jumped on to the monster, stabbing it's throat killing it. Looking at Rosette to see if she was okay, he heard her trying to cover herself by telling him how he was lucky and that if she hadn't slipped on the pool of blood she could have won. After she had finished he had realized that she did hurt herself, so he had just smiled at her as he began to pick her up and carry her on his back. As he began to head back out of the cave, she began to resist and struggle until she made him agree to turn around and look around the last area. As they had entered the last area of the cave they saw two cloaks, one white and one black, both tailored to the size of a medium sized adult, each on a stand of their own. Putting Rosette on the ground, he walked up to the cloaks. There he saw that there were some words engraved on the stands where the cloaks were.

The words on the stand of the white cloak had read:

"The light shall guide you so that you may never be lost in the darkness."

The words on the stand of the black cloak had read:

"Fear not the shadows, as they will become your ally."

After reading the words on the stand, he had taken the black cloak and put it on. Right as he had put the hood over his head, he heard Rosette shouting as loud as she could, saying,

"You jerk, where did you go?"

Confused as to what she meant he responded to her, "What are you shouting about now? I'm still right here."

Waiting for her reply, he heard her speaking now it her normal voice, "Chrno if you are really there then go get me that white cloak."

Wondering why she asking if it really was him or not, he went to grab the white cloak and bring it to her. As soon as he reached her, she had grabbed the cloak and put it on. Right as she put her hood over her head, he saw her emitting a bright light.
Seeing her look at him now, she had asked, "Chrno...is that you?"
Thinking for a moment about the words on the stand of the black cloak, he realized what the words had meant and responded to her saying, "Who else would be down here Rosette?"
Seeing her feel relieved she had asked him shyly, "My...ankle still hurts...can you..."

Interrupting her Chrno walked up to her and had knelt down to carry her on his back. While he was waiting he felt Rosette pull his hood off of him. Looking back, he saw her pull her hood off as well, until she finally climbed onto his back. Finished with the cave now, they headed back out of the cave and to the village doctor to get Rosette treated. While they were there, Rosette had taken a picture of them together to commemorate their first adventure together. The next day, he saw Rosette again and she had given Chrno a pendent with the same picture that she had taken the day before. She had also shown Chrno that it was the same pendant as her along with the same picture as well.

At the age of 19, Rosette had made a bet with Chrno to see who could steal the most weapons from their village without getting caught before sundown. At first he had refused the challenge, but she kept insisting until finally he had agreed to take the challenge. As the challenge went on throughout the day neither of them were caught stealing from the armory, although Chrno was beating her 27 to 24. With the contest coming to an end, Rosette started to become desperate and decided to do something more drastic and steal from the village powder room. Having a bad feeling in his gut he decided to follow her to the powder room, catching up to her just in time to see her knock out the guard, to watch over her in case something went wrong. Waiting for Rosette to come out of the powder room so that they may end the contest already, he heard something in the powder room fall. Running into the room he saw that she had tripped and had nearly knocked over some of the sensitive explosive weapons. Breathing a sigh of relief that nothing had happen he helped her up and they both got out, each holding as much as they can back to their rendezvous point laughing on their way. Back at the rendezvous point they both sat down and started to count the weapons in their pile, when one of the explosive weapons from Rosette's pile had accidentally fallen from the table where the pile was. Seeing the explosive weapon falling from the table Chrno grabbed her and jumped out of the building just before the explosion had gone off causing a chain reaction setting all of the other explosives off as well as sending all the weapons flying everywhere. As the explosives were going off, one of the weapons had flown past Chrno, just barely hitting his left eye, but close enough that it would create a cut going straight up on his eye, just as it passed by. Wounded he continued to shield her from harm until the explosions had stopped and then passing out. In minutes the area was surrounded by the villagers who were putting out the fire and carrying the two to the village doctor. Upon reaching the village doctor, Chrno was treated right away in an attempt to save his left eye from any actually damage. After an hour they had patched Chrno up and couldn't see any problems with his eye; however they had decided to keep him here to observe him, in case anything went wrong with his vision. After his first day in the hospital, Chrno had finally awakened, although he could only open his right eye. Upon awaking, he saw Rosette sleeping in a chair next to him and felt relieved that she was not harmed, but at the same time he felt pathetic for passing out. After about an hour, a nurse had come into his room and explained to him what had happened and that he would be under their care for a while in case anything were to happen to his left eye. He spent a total of five days in that room, under the care of the hospital and in all five days, he would see Rosette visiting him, but each time he saw her, she seemed to be in pain. After four days he was able to open his left eye again and his vision seemed to be fine.

On the fifth day she had said to Chrno, "I'm sorry this happened, if I hadn't made that stupid bet you wouldn't have ended up like this or even worse you could have died."

Feeling confused as to why she seemed to be acting so differently, Chrno had said to her, "Don't worry about it, I never blamed you, I'm just glad you were not hurt. Besides only fate may decide when our lives must end, until then you can only move forward."

Tears that she had been holding back now started to roll down her face. "I...I have to go now...goodbye." Afterwards she had quickly left.
Seeing her tears rolled down her face, Chrno began to reply to her, but she had left too quickly for him to respond to anything. After about two hours, he had heard news of Rosette being exiled as punishment for what had happened on the day of the incident from the village doctor. Quickly, he left the hospital and went straight to the village chief telling him that the entire incident was his fault and that Rosette was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. The village chief, after hearing Chrno's words, decided to change his decision and exile Chrno instead; giving him three days to prepare his things and leave the village. Only after six hours of the chief's decision, Chrno had prepared himself for the outside world, saying farewell to his parents and leaving in the middle of the night. Before he left, he had gone over to Rosette's home, and stood outside under the moonlight looking up at her window, hoping to get a glimpse of her before leaving. He thought to himself that he should at least tell her goodbye before he left, but decided against it, as he knew that she would try to stop him and he didn't know if he could bring himself to leave if he saw her crying again. While he stood there for a moment he saw that her room light had just turned on.

Staring at the window briefly, he finally whispered, "Goodbye, Rosette. You're the one I'll miss the most and you won't even know it."

After whispering those words, he left the village and has never returned.
Since he had left his village, continuing his training, he has gone on many different adventures and met many new people. After two years of traveling, he had established the guild Z.E.R.O. at the age of 21. The guild, now two years old, continues to run with Chrno as the guild leader without the world really knowing that such a guild exist.
